For what it's worth, I enjoyed the Nolan books that were reprinted by Hard Case and love the Quarry series.Dan Schwenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09430857663521602751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5697758946827457711.post-27679959331755365702010-11-26T09:06:18.900-08:002010-11-26T09:06:18.900-08:00This comment has been removed by the author.Dan Schwenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09430857663521602751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5697758946827457711.post-29847145985747355282010-11-26T08:27:56.286-08:002010-11-26T08:27:56.286-08:00I left a comment but it never appeared. The first book was written when I was in college, and the Nolan character died at the end. When a publisher offered to do a series if I would "un-kill" Nolan, and I asked Don Westlake what he thought -- he was my friend and mentor and liked the book. He gave his blessing and was kind enough to say that the father-and-son aspect of the Nolan-and-Jon premise made it a different animal. Someday perhaps you will be successful enough to have people you don't know take cheap shots at you.Max Allan Collinshttp://www.maxallancollins.comnoreply@blogger.com
